We're having our first dodgeball training with our new recruits this thursday (12th August) at crocodile farm from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.

For those who doesn't know how to get there, below is a map with directions. And for those who do not have transport there, please meet us at taylors campus main entrance at 4.00 pm. :D






Its near SJMC (Subang Jaya Medical Centre)
when u see SJMC, turn into SJMC , and go straight, then 500m turn left, if u go into Holiday Villa means u overshot (provided by Owen)

To assist clubs to garner more participation and support.

5.CDL Commence
A League to highlight team-work, multi-racial and unity among IPTA/IPTS. A league to improve character development through Honesty, Integrity & Sportsmanship.


5. GAME PLAY & MATCH FORMAT

Game Play mechanics
3 male + 3 female (6 to start, min 3 female to start)
20 minute game time (10 minutes game time x 2 halves)
Clubs with most games won wins the match (total game score)

Match Format
16 clubs divided into 4 groups of 4
Each club to play min 6 matches before proceed to knock-out stage
Each match won is 3 pts, Draw is 1 pt and Lose is 0 point
Additional points for GROUP SUPPORT – see table below*
Top 2 clubs from each group proceeds to Knock-out-round
Winner of Group A will compete against 2nd Winner of Group B
And vice versa for Group C and D.

Up to 10 players per team, guys and girls are completely separatedwhich means, there will be two different tournaments (one for guys and one for gurls)


PRIZES (same for male and female)
1st Prize RM2,000 cash prize+RM1,000 worth of exclusive Figo’s Merchandise

2nd Prize RM1,000 cash prize+RM1,000 worth of exclusive Figo’s Merchandise

3rd Prize RM500 cash prize+RM500 worth of exclusive Figo’s Merchandise

Participation fee is RM 200 per team, so RM 20 per person

Players that show potential will represent Malaysia in international Dodgeball friendlies.

Update for Hari Belia May 15

Those who are joining the dodgeball tournament for Hari Belia on May 15, pls reach Taylors Lakeside Campus by 6.30 AM, we will be leaving to Putrajaya together. Seniors, pls wear the Hyenas jersey and juniors, u can wear anything on top, as long as its WHITE!

Hari Belia !

To start of guys and gals, Hari Belia will be at Putrajaya Precinct 18 which is opposite Menara KBS. I will post up the map as soon as I get it so no worries.

The match details are:
- 15 Minutes per game ( no breaks )
- 3 Match per team in each Group
- Winner of each group will fight for First Place
- To determine the winner in each group, were following League style as in for every win, 3 points will be gained while a draw is 1 point and losing has no points.
- All matches will be played on TAR road ( car park ). Because its on Tar road, knee pads, elbow pads and finger protectors are allowed. No gloves!
- It will begin at 8 IN THE MORNING and should end ( including prize giving ceremony which will most likely be given to the winners by our very own Prime Minister )

Hari Belia

Hi guys, as you all know, we will be involved in an upcoming event called Hari Belia where our very own prime minister, Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak will be attending.

Date: 15 and 16 May
Venue: Putrajaya

We will be sending a team of 10 people, handpicked by our seniors.
The prizes are very attractive, just for teasers, FIRST PRIZE IS RM 1500.

Oh ya, we also need fanfares, dodgettes and a spokesperson.

Whoever is involve in our very first Hyenas Press Conference. This is the latest news that we have received



Transportation.

The van will make 2 trips which is 2.30pm and 3.00pm. TBS Building. Please make sure guys and girls try to get an early dismissal from your class (after all this is the 1st ever Press Conference for Hyenas!). So you guys can catch the van at 2.30pm and 3.00pm. Reason being is that the van cannot accommodate too many people at one go. So please gather at TBS around 2.25pm.

The Month Of Roar-ness

To those who didn't atttend meeting. Busy month ahead.


1. Malaysian’s Association of Private Colleges & Universities (MAPCU) 2010

a) A competition held by MAPCU in the month of July 2010

b) Venue is to be confirmed but most probably it will be at Taylor’s Lakeside Campus

c) Only one team of 15 players will be chosen to represent Taylor’s

d) The team will be represented by 8 seniors and 7 juniors

e) Transportation will be provided for these 15 players

f) It’s a rally tournament! – teams represent Taylor’s in a few other games (basketball etc.) and the winner is crowned based on cumulative points of all games.

g) Team manager is Mr Aravind from ECA.

2. Election of Spokesperson

a) Jun Hsien Lee is elected as our spokesperson *applause.

b) Obligations of the spokesperson: To introduce dodgeball games during our trainings in videos* (Videos are to be uploaded); To update the webpage in MAD website.

*It’s like giving an introduction about dodgeball in a 5-minute video during training days.

3. Press Conference with MAD

a) Taylor’s will be affiliated with MAD

b) Objective of press conference: to show an example of how the dodgeball system works and also our achievements

c) Details of Press Conference:

i. Date: 31^st March 2010 (Monday)

ii. Time: 3pm till about 6 to 7pm

iii. Venue: Taylor’s Lakeside Campus

d) This event is compulsory for ALL seniors

e) Jun Hsien Lee will be MC of the day

4. Rehearsal for Press Conference

a) We will have a rehearsal to get everyone ready for the press conference :)

i. Date: 22^nd March 2010 (Monday)

ii. Time: 5pm onwards (please be punctual!)

iii. Venue: Taylor’s Lakeside Campus

5. Delegation of Jobs for Press Conference

a) Dodgettes and Fanfare people are required to do a LARGE banner that will be used in the press conference. (For a more detailed definition of LARGE, please refer to YJ)

b) Dodgettes are also required to come up with a routine.

c) ALL Hyenas members are required to work as ushers during the press conference

d) Dress code:-

i. Seniors: Black Hyenas Polo Tee outside, wear the white jersey inside

ii. Juniors: Taylor’s polo tee

(Seniors who do not have the Hyenas polo tee must wear the Taylor’s polo tee!)

6. Challenges during Press Conference

a) There will be two matches after the press conference:-

i. MAD vs. Hyenas

ii. Hyenas vs. Taylor’s staff

7. Change in Training Day (this week only!)

a) This week’s training has been postponed to Wednesday (10^th March) so see you guys at the Crocodile Farm! Trainings resume on Mondays next week.

8. Other Announcements

a) We are getting 18 new dodgeballs!

b) Several friendly matches will be organized for our juniors against KDU, KBU and Segi. Only for juniors though!

Hello Hyenas!

This is Jerrard here writing to you which is to be sort of my memorandum or should I say my time is finally up with the hyenas. I don't know if some people think its gay to actually write this sorta stuff down. I just feel that I need to write this so when I have finally grown a mustache, I'll have my cigar lit and looked back to the wonderful times in playing dodgeball.

Well, I vividly recall that a good friend of mine, Jun Hsien had called me to join a sport in college when we were freshman in Taylors.Despite pursuing different courses, he stressed that I should join Dodgeball.Honestly, I must say, its the decision that I have not regretted in my life of being part of the hyenas family.

Year 2009 was indeed a blissful year for the Hyenas. I remember back then when we the juniors,didn't have a proper name to ourselves. Our very first team name was Black and White.Participating in our very first competition with just 4 guys and 2 girls. Black and White were seen as the underdogs throughout the competition. After some hard fought battle, we manage to cliched 3rd prize.It was a good start considering we formed a team right from scratch. Then we changed to Hyenas-X. Believing that we are the new generation of Hyenas!

Just to mention a few moments....

I had the opportunity to participate in the first ever campus dodgeball league 2009 at E@Curve. Oh my, what a wonderful experience it was.From all those times, seating at the stair case right near the elevator waiting for our game to start and enjoying horribly to the taste of our cheap dinner in which I am certain you all agree with me,from sharing stupid and yet epic moments with the seniors and from shouting and chanting hyenas all the way, not forgetting rocking the crowd with our ferocious play yet still be able to entertain the crowd . It was the Wednesday of the week to look forward for me. Here, I would justlike to apologize for one thing and that is the horrendous dance routine that I made up for the hyenas.I guess desperate measures calls for desperate actions. It was taken from the movie ' Remember The Titans' but of course with a little bit improvisation.Its because of this tournament, we actually got to know together a little bit more. It was just like an excuse of forging friendship among us.

It doesn't stop there. We manage to come up second place in the league. Something that we are really proud off. All those times we go for trainings whether it was rain or shine or we deliberately drag our asses up to training just for the sake of it. It all paid off well I must say.

It'll still keeps going on..... We were even given the privilege of representing Malaysia to play a friendly match against team of HONG KONG.It was truly one epic moment of being able to play and whoop some asses at international level.I am sure the seniors and the juniors were gung-ho about this particular event.


After today, clinching the 3rd price again in Jackpot Madness with the help of Inti team. I must say that my time with the Hyenas has come to an end. I am not sure whether I'll be participating with you all in future tournaments. I guess its safe to say since I have already departed to lakeside campus and given a task to form another team there unless circumstances permits.Anyway, as much as I hate the fact we are splitting up, life has just gotta go on man.Hopefully I'll still be able to attend monday training from time to time.

I'll just like to say a big thank you to all the dodgeballers,dodgettes and everyone who is involved in making this a truly one epic experience. Thanks man.

TO THE HYENAS SENIORS,

Ironically, the hyenas junior has never and I guess will never be able to beat you guys in a dodgeball match. Games in between are not counted by the way. Let's just keep it that way eh?.

I am here to tell you that there will be an open competition called Jackpot Madness.

Details are below.


RM20 per person, min 6-8 per team
1st Prize=RM500
2nd Prize=RM300
3rd Prize=RM200
Open to first 12 teams!

Match Rules:
*Every team must have a ROSE (A lady/girl) amongst the thorns
*3 Groups of 4 Teams play league style. After which, top from each group advances to finals.
*Each match lasts 28mins (14mins X 2 Halves)


Venue: Taylor's Lakeside Campus
Time: 9am- 6pm
Date: 27/02/2010 ( Saturday)

I am just here to inform you the latest update from M.A.D

They will be having a roadshow at Taylors Lakeside Campus. Details are below

Venue: Taylors Lakeside MPH ( Multi-Purpose Hall)

Date: 25TH February 2010 ( Thursday)


The purpose is we all are playing a match against the Taylor's staff. Don't worry, we are not going to play the whole day. If I am not mistaken, our match slot is at 3pm onwards.
